I need the part number for a 1986 M1008 truck radiator, it has both trans and oil coolers. Have ordered the military service manuals and parts book however it seems they will take many moons to get to me. In the meantime would like to be able to drive my new to me truck. Also want a GM radiator ve aftermarket.
Thanks for your help!

I bought a new radiator from a place called "Radiator Barn" on the I-net. Quality piece, made in Canada for $300.00 including the shipping. Hope this helps.

Hi Les,

not easy with this one ;)

If you still have the old rad, look at the tag (passenger side, near the oil cooler outlets).

If not, read on:

military parts manual says 3058966 (NSN 2930-01-264-3480).
At partsdirect (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com) however this number is not listed. Maybe superseded.
A search at ISO-parts (http://www.iso-parts.com/) with the army National Stock Number as listed above shows part# 1R2098 manufacturer Modine Mfg Company).

A search at AC Delco (http://www.acdelco.com) shows their part number (20989).
Here you're able to find the vehicle for a specified part ("Find Usage"-Button)

Finally at partsvoice com (http://www.partsvoice.com/) you will find under the AC Delco number also a GM part: 03058966 (also not listed at gmpartsdirect though).

For aftermarket products you may take a look at discount auto radiators (http://www.discount-auto-radiators.com/).

Radiator measurements: 864x476x51mm (for the non-metric world: 34x18.74x2")

Hope you're not too confused to order . . .

Walter and TFK30,

Thanks for info, Walter, started engine yesterday :D , everything seemed good for a 2-3 sec run. Next I will replace the missing parts and make it driveable Once that is done, I will likely be looking for more power. Very interested in following your upgrades to see improvement results since we have the same truck.

I am thinking/researching about long-term project of a 4L80E w/low gear set (lower first and second gears).

thanks,
Les
