View Full Version : Just Wonderin'!!
I'm in the process of putting an intercooler on my truck, and I was wondering whether anyone has used PVC or ABS piping for connecting to and from the intercooler. Are the temperatures out of the turbo too extreme for the piping? Apparently, ABS is good to 180F, while PVC is good to 160F. Just wondering!

Temperatures out of the compressor can approach 300F.
Thanks, I guess that's out then, at least on the inlet of the intercooler.

Kally, you can get intercooler piping on ebay. I used it and it works very well. But I found out they work better if you use high temp silicone rtv to keep the fittings from blowing off under high pressure (over 12psi).

You can also get the same piping from JC Whitney for $96 plus $11 for shipping. If you have a coupon - it's $86 plus shipping. And these prices from Whitney are for Aluminized pipe. So it's $53 cheaper than that ebay price. Hmmm, maybe I should start selling on ebay......
Better yet, determine what you need - order only the pieces you need and save even more....
