I have a 6.2l N/A 85 suburban with 296K miles on it. It has developed a coolant leak. Or at least it is using coolant. Now at an alarming rate. I have looked for leaks, bad radiator caps, hoses, etc. Nothing showing leaks. Can anyone help?

How's the engine oil look?
Any steam from the exhaust when the engine is hot?
Any dripping under the truck when parked overnight?
How about the pressure cap - they can weaken and vent enough vapor on long runs to significantly reduce the coolant content.
Another common leak spot, is at the cylinder head to thermostat crossover joints at the front of the engine. I had a leak from the lhs crossover joint that ran down into the intake valley, where it evaporated - the only evidence was an orange glaze and strong anti-freeze odor.

I have gotten under and looked. No visible color under truck overnight, no streaks like it is leaking from hoses....going to replace cap today. I haven't however looked at crossover pipe and will do that today. This has been a real good engine. Will let you know on future post tomorrow of what I find. Thanks so much for the help.
