Got a friend interested in a '92 1 ton van with a bad axle (sounds like a freight train). Will an axle from a pick-up fit? Can he replace it with a 3/4 ton axle? Thanks!

There are some differences in axle width between models. For example, I've been told the Suburban axle is narrower than those used in a pickup application. As far as a van... I dunno... You could throw a tape on it to measure wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface to know for sure.

Don't forget spring perch spacing, either.

Thanks guys. I'll pass the info along and read up on that "pirate" website. The engine actually purrs like a kitten but the sound of the axle actually drowns out the engine and any conversation inside!

Is that still the older body style frames? If so, my guess is that you can not put a 3/4T axle into a 1ton because of the spring perch width. As far as the WMS you can always swap a SRW and DRW rear hubs to get you desired configuration.

Your looking for a 1Ton or any crew cab (3/4T or 1T) rear diff ... single wheel or dually.
