I want to rebuild a 6.2. Does anybody know, if it is possible to bore every 6.2 block to use 6.5 pistons without problems? I think cylinder walls will be thick enough, but what about deck height and head gaskets? Do 6.5 headgaskets fit 6.2 blocks (concerning oil and water holes) or should I use oversized 6.2 headgaskets?
Thanks for any answer...

This is no problem with the 599 and similar 6.2L blocks - the same casting was used for 6.2L and 6.5L engines in 1991 thru about 1994.

With earlier 6.2L engines you are taking a risk that the cylinder walls will end up thin. Thin walls, even if they do not crack, will flex more, be harder for the rings to seal, and may induce cavitation on the coolant side. You are better off going 0.010 or 0.020 or 0.030" over and using the correct oversize pistons for a 6.2+L engine.
