oil filters

Does anyone know if a 84 6.2 filter and a 99 6.5 will interchange? I use Napa Gold(Wix) and it would just simpler to remember one number. I have compared the two and can't see any remarkable difference.

According to the Wix site, the 84 6.2L uses a 51061, and the 99 6.5L uses a 51060. I think the only difference is the 51060 has an anti-drainback valve since it mounts horizontally, and the 51061 mounts vertically and doesn't need the valve. You can use the 99's filter on the 84, but not the other way around. I personally like the 51794 on the 6.2L since it gives you an extra quart of oil capacity. It's too long for horizontal use, though.
