Recently I aquired a 1993 6.5 engine. I have a 1983 6.2 and I had planned on converting it over to the serpentine setup from the 93. I have the early Banks turbo (pre-sidewinder...I believe it is a Schwitzer?). Will I have to make any modifications to get this to work?

Also...Would there be any advantages, performance or otherwise, by using the GM8 vs the Banks (at least I believe it is a GM8).

The Banks turbo system may work with a serpentine belt system... Let us know how it goes.

The GM 6.5 turbo exhaust housing points the exhaust down at the frame rail, which makes it real hard to make a downpipe that works without poor flow and fit.

I'd stick with the Banks turbo....

Bill,

You may also have to swap the water pump when if you change to the serpentine belts. I believe the serpentine belt configuration spins the water pump in the opposite direction from what the 6.2 set up is.
