Howdy, I'm lookin to buy a postal stepvan this coming week,I thought it wise to join the Forum and educate myself befor buying. It has 27,000 orig. miles it was taken off the fleet line with 20,000 miles and turned into a mobile classroom, hence the low miles. They also installed an onan gas generator,I was told it only has 25 hours on it.I believe it is a 2 ton. It has the TH 400 trans.I am looking to convert it into a small motorhome. If any body has any expierience with 6.2 p30 step vans with TH400 trans I would appreciate it.the body is all aluminium and I'm paying $4,500.
I believe it has been sitting for one year and the batteries are dead,I asked them yesterday to charge them up, so I can hear it run. Should I be concerned about the old Diesel Fuel in the tank? How about seals falling from sitting for a year?
Any and all info. is appreciated ,,Greg

I bought this one! It's like all the others only it has a large lift-gate at the rear. It had more like 78,000 Miles when I bought it and don't see anything wrong with the drivetrain or chassis yet.

I'm hoping I can find someone else with one to compare notes with.
