Hello All,
Just about done, but have one question (hopefully the last). I have an oil cooler on my truck and one of these lines must supply oil to the turbo, but which one? :( The rear one supplies oil to the cooler (out from engine-hot) or the front line returns oil from the cooler (in to engine-cool). I think it is the return (front) so it could get cooler oil, however this one may not have enough pressure and supply enough oil as the supply line (rear). Please help me.
Thanks to everyone for their help!
Don Cannon
The turbo oil supply on most 6.2 engines comes from a port on the block above the two oil cooler lines.

When I installed a 6.5 turbo on my truck I just cut one of the oil cooler lines , had hydraulic ends crimped on and used a 1/4" hydraulic hose to feed the turbo(Hydraulic "L" swivel for turbo). I have been using it for over 2 years now and had no problems.
My truck has 208,000 miles and has never been rebuilt. I have 65psi oil pressure at run and 40psi at Idle. It still runs like a champ and pulls a 36' camper.
The turbo Is set to 12lbs max. boost using a "Turbo" master controler. My Pyro never goes above 850-900.

Don't do it that way, tap the oil gallery just above and to the right of the oil filter bracket by unscrewing the pipe plug and fitting an elbow (if memory serves) on the 6.2, or use the valley oil feed on the later 6.5L.

Britanic is correct, there is oil taps by the filter, but there is not much room, that's why I used the oil lines.
6.5's use a oil tap on the front of the timing cover to feed the turbo, which the 6.2 don't have.
Good luck to ya

I also used the oil port directly above the oil filter. It's a 1/4" NPT port. I used steel-braided hose to go from there, over the top of the engine, and across to the turbo on the other side. If you have stock oil cooler lines, it's a pain to get to that plug. I made my own oil cooler lines several years ago, and mine point down and away from that oil port, so it was actually rather easy to get to.

Thanks to everyone  ,
I will look tonight after it cools down outside.
I think the next thing is to fix the A/C.
Thanks again,
Don ;)

Hello All,
I sure hope I am not being an idiot, but I cannot find neither oil gallery plugs. I hate to be a pain! Could you tell me exactly where it is that they are suppose to be please? I have looked by the oil filter and around the adapter. All I see is the cooler line holes and what appears to be a blank boss (line the cooler lines but undrilled or tapped)and there is a drilled and tapped hole above that is empty (put a screw driver in and it does not touch anything). I also looked under and in back of the intake manifold. Then I see a sending unit for oil pressure in back of the manifold. Can you please help?
Thanks in advance,
Don Cannon

The tap is directly above the oil cooler lines on the block.
Here's a picture that might help:

Dieselboy,
A very sincere thank you very much.
It has oil to the turbo and now it runs!
Still a few bugs to workout like the fuel pump block off plate leaks and now I will have to replace the rear main.
Thanks again,
Don
PS cannot wait to get this bad boy on the highway. It sounds great without a muffler! :D
