over the last few months the starterseems to have been getting progressively worse, and yesterday it stopped working all together, i have no info at all on the subject, where to look?

Let us know the actual symptoms, noises etc. and we'll try to help.

With starter problems that don't have any associated noises, I always check the connections, batteries, ignition circuits and any relays as a matter of course.

If the starter itself is the problem, you'll need to remove it; it's located on the passenger side of the block at the rear and is best removed from underneath.
