Stumbled across this thread

http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=002140

and wondered if it applies to cucv's. Ive put 20 odd thousand miles on my m1009 in the last 6 months and haven't had any problems. Mind you, now I've asked the question everything will probably go tits up. Please excuse the expression but its a common saying over here.

Simon.

It applies, especially with respect to keeping them reasonably tight and using the brands mentioned, I only use the Dayco Top Cog belts, they have a great life, and last where others wouldn't.

Thanks for the reply John. Guess I'll go buy some belts just in case.

Jim, sorry about the delay.

belt 1-GM 15599208 42-6923 Dayco 0899:6

belt 2-GM 15599207 42-6913 Dayco 2391:12

No problems yet (25K miles). no doubt now I've said that they'll fail.
