View Full Version : Glow Plug Problems!

I went into this in more detail in the Dr. Lee area, but the essence is this. I have NO power at B or D in the glowplug controller wiring harness. I first thought it was the temp. inhibit switch, so I simply cut the plug off and connected the wires together. This didn't help.

If I jump the Bat. terminal to the Glowplug terminal, the light comes on etc.

Where does the power come from to signal the controller? (pin D) Can I just tap into that wire with another wire connected to a "run" position terminal? And if that is the case, can I simply tap the starter signal wire and send that signal to pin B?

I don't know where the wiring problem is, so I want to attempt to go around the problem.

Thanks,

Bill

More Power

B is tied into the same circuit that connects to the "start" terminal on the starter. You should have power at glow plug controller terminal "B" whenever the ignition key is in the start or crank position.

Terminal "D" is powered through an ignition feed circuit. This should be hot with the ignition key in the run & start positions.

Check fuses...

That is how I thought it worked. I can't find any bad fuses, and the fusable link right at the controller is good. I guess the controller just has a solid state timer in it, right? I will try and trace the wires tomorrow.

Thanks alot!
