Trans swap

I have found a 92 van with a good trans. Will it work in my 90 Sub.6.2, the van is a 350 gas? What about the tc lock up?

Is the van trans the same type? I assume the trans in your suburban is a 700R4. The one in the 92 could be a 700, but it might be a 4L60E. The 700R4 and 4L60 are the same tranny, but the 4L60E is an electronic version of the 700. It needs a computer to function. I can't remember when they came out, 92 or 93. If it is the electronic version, then it won't work in your burb. If it's the mechanical version, then it will work.

As far as TC control, I don't know if it will be a "plug and play," or not. I'd look at the connector going to your tranny, count the number of wires and note the location of each wire in the connector, and then compare that to the van. If it's the same, then it should work okay.

I haven't looked at the van tran. My burb has a 4L60 no E.
