Can a person buy a new 6.2 block?

If not could a 6.5 block be sleeved to 6.2 dia?

I have a friend who wants to take a late 7.3l (IDI) block and sleeve it to the same bore as a 6.9l, use a 6.9l crank, rods, pistons, etc. You'd end up with more metal in the block than a stock 6.9l had, and I assume the same would hold true for a 6.5l sleeved to 6.2l. It'd be expensive, though.

I don't know if this is the route you'd want to do. You can purchase -NEW- AM General 6.5L blocks, which are more robust than the 6.2L block was anyways, as far as being more resistant to craking in the bottom end. I haven't seen any cracked cylinder walls that didn't happen from cracking down below first.

I was thinking about the 6.2 19 to 1 pistons mostly just wondering.

Size wise, yes you can sleeve a 6.5 down to a 6.2, but at $100 a hole it becomes cost prohibitive pretty quick...
