6.2l & 6.5l diesel plugging cooler line in block

i have a question about plugging the oil cooler
ports at the engine block 3/8 pipe thread.
can they be plugged with out having engine
trouble?
if not what will happen, worst case ?????

Plugging the oil cooling line ports will cause a pressure relief valve to constantly bypass.

A loop would be better. An oil cooler would be best.
