Ok ... all I have to figure out it how transfer the power from my engine to the tranny. I am still unclear on which clutch and flywheel to use for this swap.

Here are my present options:
- mid 80's 6.2 "J" flywheel, stock 350 clutch and pressure plate

or

- 93' flywheel, clutch, pressure plater from a 1 ton 6.5 diesel

To recap, I have a 83' 6.2 wirh ATS Turbo that I am putting into my newly aquired 86' 1ton 4x4 (350 Carb'd). It has a 4spd tranny(SM465/NP205). No OD but I am running 3.73 gears with 285/17R16 tires so that should really help lower my highway RPM's.

Use the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, etc, for the diesel.

They are both diesel flywheel, clutch and pressure plates. My question what which to use. Thank-you very much for that infomative comments

My research had detemined that the clutch and pressure plate are the same for a 350 or 6.2 ... there is a difference in flywheels.

You said one option was the stock clutch and pressure plate from the 350, the other was a 6.5L set, and asked which you should use. I said use the clutch and pressure plate from the diesel. If you don't supply all the information you have, you can't get angry when you don't get the answer you want.

Sorry, I thought I made it very clear ... "mid 80's 6.2 "J" flywheel". I am speak specifiaclly about clutch and flywheel setups for diesel engines. Basically newer versus older
