How about a blast from the past?
Some of you have mentioned this before, but considering the problems we had with the forum, now's a good time to do it. Please review the table of contents for the eight Feature Articles volumes, and select one 6.2L diesel related article that you would like to have re-run here in The Diesel Page. Any one article from any of the eight volumes. If you'd like to see it again, I'll make it available.
The following link will take you to the book list. Each link on that page will show you the table of contents for each Feature Articles volume.
http://www.thedieselpage.com/books.htm
Post your choice here in this thread. Once a consensus is reached, I'll upload it to the web site.
Thanks for your patience leading up to and during the BB forum move.

More Power, thanks for this offer and especially for the new faster forum server :D !!
Either of these would be great:
Towing With The 6.2/6.5 Diesel
Racing the GM Diesels
Dieselboy

Definitely the towing article, but if Bill Heath runs across any more pictures of the 782? lb. ft. 6.2L then I vote for the racing article.
Thank!

My vote is for "The 6.2 Diesel Engine"

Can you guys include which issue the article you're voting for is in?
That'll help me quickly decide if I'm with you or "against" you. ;)
Thanks!!!

all of the 6.2 performance updates by Dr. Lee

There are two Dr. Lee articles available right now on TheDieselPage.com:
http://www.thedieselpage.com/reviews/avanteng.htm
and
http://www.thedieselpage.com/features/leefilt.htm
I will vote for the installation of the Banks turbo on the 6.2L for reprinting.
Dr. Lee
As for me - I'm interested in the article that shows how to tune and tweak the later style glow plug controller. I know it's not quite as glossy as all the high performance stuff but, hey, we ALL need glow plugs.

C'mon guys.... We need a selection if you want to see it by October 15th....
I've got a couple personal 6.2L favorites, but mine don't always match the majority.....
MP
I'm getting the impression that Dr Lee is succumbing to the siren call of of a wailing turbo, so I vote for turning up the pressure, as it were.
The 6.2 Bamks Turbo article should do the trick, don't you think?
jd
I'd say either "The 6.2L Diesel Engine", "Towing with 6.2/6.5L Diesels", or "Racing GM Diesels." Any of these would be great.

I think my vote is in favor of the "installing the Banks 6.2L turbocharger system". 'Cuz every time I think about how much more I'd enjoy my truck with a turbo (or two) I have to drag out the drool bucket!
Gregg
"Installing the Banks 6.2L turbocharger system" please. I got ahold of a J intake, and I'm doing my best to save up for the turbo now.

I would like to see "installiing the banks turbo system, this may sound selfish but just picked up complete system on ebay and need to know where to start with engine that has a 155,000 miles
Hi Guys:
I hate to be a pain in the butt, and I know I'm in the minority here but. . .
Doesn't a Banks turbo setup come with an instruction manual???
Wouldn't it be nice to bring back some cool tid-bit we can't get anywhere else?
Just a thought. . .
Racing the GM Diesels sounds like a great article
definitely when you read the intro..
So thats my vote.

Just a thought. . . I second Gavio on this! In fact if you ask Banks nicely they'll send you a .pdf Adobe Acrobat file of the installation manual or the hard copy.

Well... I lived for several years in the mountain states (Flagstaff AZ and Moran WY) to be exact and I'm kinda like "gavio?" we all need a glow plug system that WORKS RELIABLY! and so, with that in mind... The article on repairing and adjusting/modifying the 1985 to 1993 glow controller, in the 2000 book, would be my first choice.
Other than that other great ones were "Towing with the 6.2/6.5", "Installing a Sun Super Tach in 6.2 Diesels"
We need those tidbits of info that don't come in the owners manuals and installation manuals of various "normal" aftermarket items.

how about allowing us to purchase the entire set of 6.2 articles in one volume, instead of by year? I personally want every 6.2 article, but do not want any of the other articles.

Towing with the 6.2L/6.5L Diesels is currently tied with the 6.2L Banks Turbo article with four votes each.
Bill Heath's Racing the GM Diesels has three votes.....
I'd like to let Dr. Lee choose one of his prior 6.2L articles, and we'll select one of those mentioned above - and will eventually reprint both. Any last words???

I'm in for the 6.2L compendium, and if I may suggest a working title:
Thank you Rudolph! - the 6.2L story
I am for the 6.2 series! It might make up for all the lost info from this board which was priceless.
That sounds like a grand idea. All the 6.2 stuff in one book without the other stuff.
Hooray for the 6.2 series!

make that another vote for the 6.2L Series!

Dr. Lee and I discussed just such a compilation of 6.2L related articles some months ago, and again just last night. At this point in time, it looks like it might happen.
While the final decision would be up to the good Dr., the title could be something along the lines of:
Dr. Lee's Guide to the 6.2L Diesel
All of Dr. Lee's articles about the 6.2 would be included, along with others covering the same general subject. This would take time. Time to freshen the material - add more photos and revise the text to include new information, then do the desktop publishing aspect of it. I think it's a good idea.

I think a 6.2L Book is a good idea, too. If Dr. Lee needs any help, I will drive my matching 1984 Chevy over to his office and pitch in.

Doc, you are the man, if I'm ever in Miami, I'll buy you a few beers.
Maybe I am a little late, redface.gif by the time this topic was running I was a pavement pounder and was unfamiliar with PC's and Internet.
Could anyone tell me what the final outcome was and is the suggested guide to 6.2 Diesel available?

Hi Danie,
This project is still in the planning stages, due to one more article that I want on the page before we put the 6.2L book together. I have finished the installation of the Nitrous and Propane systems on my truck and just need to get the bottles filled, run some "2 Fast, 2 Furious" tests at the secret dragstrip here in Miami, and write it up.
If y'all keep bugging me, you might see the book at the end of this year or early next year.
