I recently bought a 6.2L from a goverment surplus auction and would like to get it ready for installation into my 86 suburban that currently has a 6.2L. It needs injectors to start. I know that all 6.2s are not created equally, I am wondering how to tell what I really have. I talked with a local guy who knows a bit about 6.2s and got from him that I have to find a code "punched" into the block, then take it and start looking for information. The code I found was "FJA 0322" there are also cast numbers in 3 locations, but he said they were not as important.

Any information on replacing the 6.2 in my burban with this milltary engine would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Dan
