Howdy
On my 1984 van I was thinking of eliminating the vac pump. Can anyone tell me if this truck has vac control for the climate controls? Or if anything else besides the cruise is run off of it? Does anyone think there would be any benifits to doing this besides it would be one less system to worry about.

The two '83 6.2L vans that I had both had vacuum activated valves for the heat & air. More than likely the '84's did too.

On my 85, it runs the climate control and the EGR valve. It is also hooked into the cruise control.

Yep, I forgot about those. It would have also provided vacuum for the pre 700R4 tranny's modulator valve.
