The transmission in my "86 Suburban 6.2 NA 2WD has been whining when I decelerate. It's been acting up for the last 200 miles or so. The noise is getting worse and now I'm wondering if I can make it 10 miles to the nearest transmission shop. Any ideas as to what is going wrong?
I had a replacement transmission put in around two years, 5000 miles and $1200 ago. The warranty was one year or 12000 miles (go figure). I'd like to spec out a better fix this time (and not go to the same type of remove and replace shop. I'm not opposed to doing the R&R myself. Any suggestions are welcome.
