I have seen on the LMC truck and Summit catalog,a chrome thermostat housing wich doesn,t need paper gasket, cause it has an "O" ring.
They say that we can say good bye to the water leaks with it.
It is valid for the 350 engine.
Would it be valid for the 6.2?
Someone has one on his enegine?
Thanks.

I have thought of this too for the 6.2's. I thought about taking an extra housing and taking out the dremel and making a slot in the housing to allow the use of just the "o" ring. Its next, as I am tired of the leaks on these housings with the paper gasket. You can also try and just use RTV and keep it from leaking, no gasket with it.

Use the rtv stuff with no gasket. I last did this on thermostat 5 years ago with no leaks. Just make sure surfaces are scraped clean and wiped down with brake cleaner. Let sit overnight before adding antifreeze.
Also, make sure there are no burrs or scratches in the mating surface. If I have one that looks bad, I'll put a peice of emery cloth down on my work bench and work the housing over that until it is flat and smooth. You can do the same thing using emery cloth over a block of wood on the water crossover (stuff a rag into the hole first).
