Any of you ever consider the effect a smaller pulley might have on coolant flow rates?

GM's new hi-cap water pump for the 6.5 made big splash in 1997 - upping flow rates from 87-gpm to 130-gpm. This was made possible by using a larger diameter and thicker impeller...

I've wondered what the flow dynamics might be when using a smaller diameter water pump pulley (increased rotational speed). Any thoughts?
