Recently rebuilt the IP and changed timing gear and chains (see other post for that story)and after initially running great, it sounds like it is not firing on all eight cylinders. I cracked loose each injector to see anything changed. I think it is something with the cylinder on the rear passenger side, as when I crack that injector line it seems to be at the same rhythm as the miss.

Could it be that things are starting to break in and I need to adjust timing or idle rpm?

I'd swap that injector into another hole and see if the skip follows it. If not, look very carefully for a leak at the #8 injector line on the pump. If you didn't change injectors with the pump, they could be getting tired and one's a little more tired than the rest. A lot of diesel shops will test injectors for free if you bring them in. You can get a complete set on eBay for $140 if they turn out to be weak.
