Hey Casey,
Wasn't it you who kind of sort of re-worked your A/C last year, took out the evaporator and cleaned it, and adjusted the cycling switch?
I've used the search and can't find it anywhere. If it wasn't you, maybe you can tell me who.
thanks ;)

Well, I need to know how you adjust the cycling switch. I've just recharged my system, it seems to be cooling ok (it's been warm here lately) so I don't think it needs much if any more r134a, but it's cycling on and off...I remember you said yours was too. I think mine had too much in it last year and I'd like to try with less. Thanks

Yep, after charging my system with 134, I could get it to cool great if the compressor would stop cycling. I asked an a/c buddy of mine about this, and he told me how to adjust the low pressure switch on the accumulator housing. Seems the 134 runs a bit lower pressure on the suction side than the 12 did.

Just pop the electrical leads off of the switch, and in the middle of the switch between the two terminals there should be a small screw. IIRC, turn the screw counter-clockwise to lower the pressure setting so that the compressor will stop cycling. I don't remember how much I turned mine, probably 1/2 turn or so. Start with that and see how it works.

It was a real piece of cake!

BTW...it's been warm here too. Friday and Saturday it was in the upper 70's, almost record highs. Today the high will be 25 with a low tonight of 9! Brrrrrrr! Bring back the 70 degree temps please!

Thanks Casey, I figured it was something like that...
we're back down to record lows here again too...so I'll just wait a little while to get back out there...it's not going anywhere. ;)

Hello Casey,
Just wanted to say thanks again. I have my air up and running just as you told me....39 degree air!
I love it.
Thanks :D

That's good to hear!

I'm anxious to see how well mine works this spring, after sitting all winter. Been cool here still, running around the upper 70's. It's been really, really nice!
