outrageous pricing for parts...

I went to my local GM dealer today for some prices, and almost fell over when he gave me the following:

#14022671 Harmonic Balancer $267.00 $Can + 15% tax
#15592128 Crank Pulley $451.00 $Can + 15% tax

I checked at GMpartsdirect.com but they will not ship out of the US. Their pricing was good, but what is a guy to do ?

If anyone has these new for sale or knows where to get em' elsewhere, please let me know.

How far from the border are you? When I order parts like that, I just have them shipped to a border store and then go across to get them.

I'm 2 hours from the Soo, I could have the parts shipped to Soo Michigan and pick em up there. Hmm....thanks

Check on eBay - I just bought a new harmonic balancer for $75 including shipping and I know I've seen a 3 shiv (sp?) crank pully on there - it still might be active!

I was talking to my cousin, who owns an auto body supply yesterday pm. He is going to talk to the parts manager at his local GM store (which he supplies to) and get me a break. I'll let you all know how it works out. Catmandoo, you're right, we're gettin' HOSED ! Eh !

Well the GM dealer we tried says he can't compete with gmpartsdirect.com, says that the prices are below jobber by a huge spread. Trouble is, we can't use partsdirect up here cuz you must have a US address to use the site. I've emailed Team Chev in Nebraska, maybe they can help.

Tom Rust at Team Chev in Scottsbluff Nebraska is the best !

I got the harmonic balancer, crank pulley and a few extras at the same price as gmpartsdirect.com. His price was 15 % more but free shipping, so it works out the same. He called me direct, made the arrangements for shipping and said I'll have my parts in 5 days.

I saved $382.00 in $canuck bucks (318.00 us)over my dealer's price.

I'll take that!
