Has anyone ever watched the Engine Torque on the Tech II?

How does it get its numbers? What input does it use to calculate it? How accurate can it be?

What readings have you seen?

I saw 410 today.

May be a function of transmission slip between input and output speed sensors - 4L80E TC is PW modulated, so gets only as much lockup as engine output requires.

I have not seen that data display when Manual trans is selected.

My system is OBD-I, so it may also not be a calculated function.

Certain? I thought line pressure was PW and lockup was binary.

Near as I can gather its a calculated value from data input to the PCM, may be a OBDII thing, my Snap on scanner also displays it

I can tell you its not calculated based on auto-trans parameters, as it is displayed on my 5-speed as well.... My GUESS is that its based on an estimated vehicle weight and acceleration.

It is a calculated value, based upon fuel rate, throttle position, engine RPM, and boost. I don't think that algorhythm for it has been looked in quite some time, never checked it on a dyno for accuracy.
