How doI determine which brake set-up I have on my K20 suburban?? I see references to several brake systems with the codes JD5, JD7 etc. I can not locate a service parts tag, and the sticker in the glove box has no brake code.

I need a new front left caliper (the bleeder screw has been wrung off) and a new master cylinder (I think my seals are shot).

Speaking of brakes, how full of fluid should the master cylider be?

Thanks,
Mike

From the GM Shop Manual, for Diesel Engine Vehicles:

Model.......Front Disc.............Rear Drums

JD3------11.86" x 1.29"------11.00" x 2"
JD5------11.86" x 1.29"------11.15" x 2.75"
JD6------12.50" x 1.28"------11.15" x 2.75"
JD7------12.50" x 1.28"------13.00" x 2.50"

Get out your tape measure and see if this helps.
