After some schmuch stole my motorcycle last week, I had no choice but to go out and spend 11 hours (with the help of a good friend) and get the truck going.
The total list was:
1. Put rear driveshaft back in
2. Top off new radiator, find the leak, remove thermostat housing from where i screwed that up, buy a new gasket, install, refill.
3. Bleed air out of fuel system, try to start truck, have it run and die
4. spend hours figuring out where air is coming from, finally find pinhole in rubber hose from lift pump
5. Replace hose and passenger motor mount
6. Bleed fuel system for 45th time
7. Top off the transmission
8. change the oil.
Drove it to work today, about 40 miles, plus 20 or so yesterday, no problems.
Seems as though the torque converter quit locking up about halfway to work. But I'll check it out on the way home.
On a side note, the new radiator and RobertShaw 180 thermostat seems to hold the gauge at 150. Granted it's the factory gauge, but I was surprised at the difference. Even idling in line at the bank for 20 minutes, no change.
Good to be back.
