Just curious if anyone can reccommend a torque convertor. Have been looking around for a while and it seems like few are rated to stall where it makes sense for a diesel.

Here are some I know of:
www.BowTie.com (http://www.BowTie.com)
www.high-impact.net (http://www.high-impact.net)
Art Carr Performance Torque Convertors (http://www.artcarr.com/catalog/p09.html?)
Depending on your torque curve, you may be looking for a stall speend between 1250-1800rpm. With my set up, I have a 1700rpm stall lock up convertor to make full use of the torque when starting.

If you're going wheeling or want better mpg, lower is better.
I had a police convertor (1800) in my gas truck and didn't like it wheeling. The RV convertor (gasser again) worked much better.
Ask the convertor mfgrs what they recommend.

I have the Art-Carr with a 1200 stall; no complaints.

Yeah, I spoke with Art Carr (himself!) about this...but the 2K for the trans/convertor is about what I've got in the van. A little rich for me, but his shop is very close which is a huge advantage.
Bow Tie looks really tempting. I just wish I knew how well their stuff holds up to diesel.
Thanks for the info guys!
