View Full Version : Exhaust Systems
Would like information about putting 3 inch exhaust system on 1983 6.2. I talked with a guy at Flowmaster and he said 3 inch was too big. What would be the proper size exhaust?

I've got the 3" on mine. The only tight spot was around the transfer case but the shop that did it got it in there and did a decent job. So go for it!! John

Don`t listen to the flo-master guy. What he`s really saying is,they don`t make the product so...Sometimes so called experts can be the most ignorant when it comes to innovation.

Single 3-inch exhaust is the best technology available for the '80s 6.2. Not much available anymore on 6.2s. I got a Banks Stinger system for about $590 plus shipping from Fuel Injection Sales & Service Inc. Allentown PA 1-800-322-9609. It's a real nice bolt on replacement supposedly good for up to 32 HP gain and 6% fuel economy gain, comes with an intake system and EGT gauge. I suggest you get them to have it drop shipped to you (or your installer) directly from the factory.
