I am planning to swap the small block in my 72k10 with the 6.2 from a cucv. The 72 has a 383/t350/np205, the cucv has a 6.2/t400/np208. The easiest way to do the swap would be to just swap engines, but the t350 needs a downshift cable attached to the throttle arm. The t400 won't bolt to the np205 with out a new adapter and input gear(requires case mods). The t400/np208 combo is way longer than the t350/np205, so if I swap the entire drivetrain I will need two new driveshafts and the transfer shift lever will be in the wrong place, plus the np208 is not near as strong as the np205.

So, has anyone ever seen a t350 behind a 6.2? There is a stud on the injector pump arm that looks like it might work as an attachment point for the cable, but not much place to attach a bracket to hold it.

I know the real answer is to use a 700r4 with the AA output shaft for the np205 but was hoping to avoid to extra cost right now.

Alternatively, does anyone need a great running 6.2 in a crappy cucv body?

They never came behind a 6.2 from factory, but I have seen quite a few TH350's behind 6.2's. For the kickdown you could find a kickdown cable holder from a 6.2 that came factory with a 700R4. That way you can hook it up to the TH350. I personaly don't care for the 350, and hate to see it in the place of a 700. But for your configuration, it might work for the better. What kind of cucv do you have with the good running 6.2 in it?
