Ever since I put this truck together I have never got on it to speak of.
Tonight I hit it about 3/4 plus throttle departing a stop sign, looked in rear view mirror for the teltale sign of smoke and Christ Its burning cleaner than a gasser, no visable sign of smoke nowhere nohow. Had about 7lbs boost instantly but no smoke.
I have the Dr Lee clone, Diesel Depot 6.5, ceramic everthing, port matched,4911 pump, all the goodies and a Banks Turbo
I asked Jamie about turning up the pump a quarter turn when he built it but he said it didn't need it.
Me thinks Jamie a tad bit consertive on pump settings, possibly thinking I might flog it too much.
Maybe I need a quarter turn on pump? enough?
Thoughts?

I don't think I'd mess with it, at 2.57 per gallon, I'm about to ditch every project that involves more power and concentrate on leaning out the pump, for no smoke, and no power but great fuel economy.

Since you've got a 4911, I'll bet it set as per the specs that a 6.5TD engine in 92-93 would have been (enough for 200hp), which would give you almost the same fuel that turning up a 6.2 pump 1/4 turn would have (still 200hp or just a little more).

Don't go a full 1/4 turn if you do decide to turn er up, start with 1/8 turn and work back if necessary.

I think that it's great you can mash on the go petal and not see a black cloud, smoke is good, but in very small doses. Kinda cool that you're getting a fast spool and no smoke too.
