I'm drooling over 1991 Suburban 2 wheel 2500 with 78,000 miles in service by a govt agency. It's got a J motor, 410 Gears & a 4 speed auto. the inside is about an 8 and the body is as straight as an arrow and drives great but it's got the red stripe down the side so a repaint is in order, but no not a speck of rust ANYWHERE. Full power with the rubber mats for carpet.

It's going to set me back $6,700 with tax title & yadda, yadda. I can't get them to budge another nickel-

It seems like a good value & I'd have to spend 10 Grand or more to come close to something this tight in a newer model.

Prices seem to be all over the place. It's for my wife to haul the kids around- she's driven it & likes the way it rides. Should we keep shopping or grab it up?

Any input would be appreciated.

The Old Blazer would go up for sale-

Sounds pretty high to me. You can usually find stuff that old for half that price around here. Of course, you usually don't find one with that low of mileage.

I wouldn't pay that much for a '90. For example, there's a 94 2500 crew cab 6.5L TURBO pickup for sale near me. They're only asking $5900 for it. Looks great, don't know how many miles are on it.

Just look at the DP classifieds, and you'll find similar vehicles for a lot less.

Of course, if you like it and want it, by all means buy it!

It's the low miles, no rust able to carry 8 passenger + & govt scheduled maintenance eating at us luring us on. I found a 4x4 with a new pump and all kind of stuff already replaced for a lot less almost half, but she's got 200k. Isn't America a great place to live!

Bill

Your wife will probably like it. My wife loves our Suburban. Can carry 7 people with relative comfort, 8 in a pinch. We have a half ton with 3.73 gears and 700R4 and get 22 mpg on trips. A 3/4 ton with 4.10 and 3 speed will be a bit less, but still reasonable. Price sounds a little steep, but still lots less than any 2004.

If I may point out the thing that matters most:

"she's driven it & likes the way it rides."

She can't beat you over the head with it later, know what I mean? :D

....When you get to choose your rope, the hangin' ain't as bad. Heard that in a movie once.

Give her a chance to talk you into it. The price sounds good, if it's that clean. 1990 was a good year for 6.2L's.
