Oh the special tool is an E4 and E5 socket that you'll need. It looks like an inverse torx bit. Snap-On has these on the truck most of the time (where I got mine). I couldn't find them anywhere else in the sizes I needed (Sears didn't have em). But be prepared to pay $15 each, yeah kinda steep for someting you're not gonna use much. But you'll need both of them, one for the plastic cover around column and the other for the switch itself. The Snap-on is a deep socket for a 1/4 in drive, you'll like them, because they are slender to get into the tight spots.
Good LUCK!!
John
