just finished putting my 83 C20 back together, when i turn the key from off to Acc. position nothing happens, when i turn to start the lights and everything come on but it doesn't attempt to start, is it possible i wired up the solenoid wrong?

It is possible.

It could also be the rack/pinion at the key cylinder. If it is off by a tooth, it will do exactly as you describe. The ignition switch is on the lower column and is connected to the lock cylinder by a rod connected to the rack/pinion. The rack/pinion is on the left side of the column, opposite the keyhole.

how would i go about checking the rack & pinnion at the key cylinder? How would this be thrown off from what it should be?
