View Full Version : TV Cable Stretch?
Can A Throtlle valve cable stretch over time? I did some forum searches but could find the answer (might not have asked correctly!). Is there a recommened time to replace it? I done the TV cable set as described on the TV Cable sys 101 paqe suggested.... but still fell as though I'm driving through a freshly plowed field all the time? About 2K on rebuilt 700R4

Adjusting it as per the instructions from BowTie and GM will take up any slack. Are you getting full throttle travel when you push the go pedal to the floor?
With Pedal all the way down, I like just a smidge being at the stop. There should be a slight static tension on the TV cable correct? Rear end 3:42/ Stock tires 215/75/15 Thanks

With the pedal all the way down, the accelerator lever should be a full travel as well and the TV cable will be under full tension at maximum extension - if not, you have a problem.
Thans for the advice. I'm installing a new intake manifold (non-egr) figured it was a good time to check it all out.

If there's any doubt at all about the TV cable, renew it! It's a lot cheaper than a tranny rebuild...

I have to replace mine on a newly acquired 89 Suburban. Do you have the part number for the TV cable?
Thanks!
