Hi Does anyone know if the 1992 and 1993 6.2 humvee engines come with the one piece rear main seal? Or are they the two piece style. Are the blocks the thicker cylinder style? Or are they made to specific military specifications that are different from civilian models.
Thanks for all your help.

Only way to tell would be to acquire the casting number off the block. Most of the blocks are the same spec as the CUCV 6.2's and are two piece rear main seal. Some of the 92-93 model 6.2's like you mention will be single piece rear main seal, but you'll just have to look. It's easy to identify by looking externally with the flexplate removed from the engine. But as a hint the 599 or 929 final three digit block will be the one you want with the single piece rear main.

The military blocks are no different than the civilian engines. I've seen two piece seal castings as late as '94, but I'd say that starting in '92 most would have the 1 pce rear seal. These would have castings of "599" or "929".
