Hi,
I am new to the forum and the I own a 1988 Range Rover fitted with a 6.2. Probably a really basic question, but I live in Australia and now much is known about these engines out here, what is the normal operating temperature range ?
Thanks in Advance

i myself don't like to see anything over 210 and i find that 180-195 or so is just about right,if you pull stuff you can expect higher temps but i've heard people on here talking 230-240 range so pulling loads can make it jump in a hurry.oh nice to have ya onboard.

Welcome, Jarrod,
With your transplanted engine you may have the luxury of an accurate temperature gauge. The ones in our old GM trucks of 1982-1987 vintage are notoriously inaccurate.
The advice given in the above answer is correct. A lot of us like to use 180 F thermostats, and it is important to keep your cooling system clean, and the fan belt tight.
We would like to see any pictures of your truck on the photo contest thread. If you need help, just email the photos to Turbo@thedieselpage.com, and Jim will get them posted for you.
