Will the heads from a 92 6.5L engine fit and work fine on a 89 6.2L engine??
Thanks in advance.

They will fit just fine, with the exception of the injector lines - some have bent the old ones to fit and others have found it easier to get 6.5 replacements.

So there is no power lose from doing this??
Yes they will fit. On my 1984 6.2 I had put 6.5 heads from late nighties. Later I put those Heads on a 2003 engineblock.

You should get a bit more power if you fit the 6.5LTD injectors and a 4911 IP, because the 6.5L heads have the latest improved design of combustion chambers.
I didnt change anything just the heads everything worked fine. Can not remember that I bend injectionlines, it was a direkt fit and no lose of power.

4911 IP is the latest mechanical DB2 Injection pump for the 6.5. This pump is to only be used with a turbocharged application. I would not use this on a naturally aspirated engine. If the engine is a 6.2 non-turbo and you are installing the 6.5 heads on, just use your 6.2 pump and injectors with the new heads. Should work good.

You can use the 4911 on an N/A engine, just turn it down to keep the EGTs safe. I believe Dr. Lee uses the 4911 on his N/A 6.5L.

Yes indeedy, there is a DB2-4911 on the SAA engine in my truck. It was originally set at the low end of the range for TURBOCHARGED trucks, and later I cranked another 1/6 turn of the fuel screw in to generate more power and a bit of smoke.
BUT - - - you do need to be sure your engine can breathe to take advantage of the -4911 and 6.5LTD injectors on an N/A engine. If you have not seen it, you can read about this combination at SAA SECRETS REVEALED !! (http://www.thedieselpage.com/reviews/avanteng.htm) .

PS:
I can't wait for Christmas to be over so I can stop using these stupid seasonal smilies.

I'm rebuilding a 6.2 with a 6.5 block , i had two 6.2 blocks that were bad. Out of six heads two were good to use. your 6.5 heads will fit on your 6.2, they only changed the angle of the injector about what looks like 10 degrees. I'll be posting a summary on my project at the end of the week. I just put my pistons in tonight. good luck!
