I will be replacin my timing chain, gears, balancer etc. in the near future. I purchased a new water pump for my 1985 6.2, but have realized thaty the 1997 year 6.2l water pump may also be a direct fit and will move more water. Is this true??

the older water pumps were clockwise rotation, the newer waterpumps off serpentine engines like the 6.5 run counter clock wise, bad thing if you wanna keep it cool.

Peninsular makes a water pump for the V-belts that flows a little more than 100gpm,which i belive is about 30% more than stock.
