Hello all,
Just got done sealing up the 6.2 turbo. NOW LOOKING FOR MORE POWER. I do have a problem with heat at about 3/4 throttle up hills (1100 degrees) then I back off till 1000 and ease back into it. Do intercoolers help? I turned back the fuel 1/8 (now about 3/8 turn) however it did not help with heat, just less smoke. Any suggestions?
Thank you to all in advance,
Don
P.S. Lots of heat under the hood may need fender louvers!

I had the same problem and posted earlier this week. Turns out the timing was the problem, my engine didn't like 2.5*-3.0* @1300 rpm, I advanced it a bit, I haven't checked it with the MT 480 yet, but it's between 5*-7*.

Hey porboyz thanks for the post. Is that injection pump timing or engine timing?
Thanks again,
Don

I Put a Banks on my 6.2 1/2 ton short bed 4x4 last winter and I see about the same numbers on the heat. I get about 6-8 on the boost but a couple of times I had around 9 psi. I don't tow with this truck because of the 700R4 so don't know what it gets that way. Hey porboyz how does that gearvendor work behind the 400?

How do you guys get that much boost? I can only get 4-5 psi. I just turned the fuel up. I have not rebuilt anything.
Thanks in advance,
Don
PS porboyz where did you get your mt480?

RaptorMan: The gearvendors was a great addition to an otherwise strong tranny, it's been totally trouble free, reduced my rpms and doubled my forward gearing.
Don:I got the MT480 on ebay, just be sure you find one with the luminosity probes, the MT1480 is the digital version and I understand the Ford Rotunda Diesel Tach/Timing Meter works also.

Don: Since installing the 4911 and 6.5L injectors, the Banks kit makes more boost, more power and more heat i'll eventually go to a wastegated turbo like the TE06H.

Poorboyz: I see a 4911 and 6.5 inj in my future. when I go to ebay what do I type in just mt480?
Thanks again,
Don

I cut out the deflector in the grille so it leaves more air in and I am NOT running a muffler. will this make a difference in boost or is it the fact I need the 4911/6.5 inj combo?
Thanks again I really do appreciate the help,
Don

I used the search words "diesel timing".
