alternator wiring diagram

Does anybody have a decent wiring diagram for the alternator system? I've got a Haynes manual for the van that has some extremely vague info about how the alternator puts power into the batteries. All I can figure out from the schematic is that the alternator output is tied to the glowplug controller, then ties to the battery. I've ohmed out the lines and can't figure out which one is the connection...

My goal is to replace a solenoid that was used to split power off to a battery in the van used for internal accessories. (van is a conversion - mini RV)

Any help would be *tremendously* appreciated!

The best is to replace the original undersized wires with new.
The alt. power cable is spliced with the power cable to the glowreley and the firewall power conection.The charge reatch the batt. from the firewall connection via a cable to the starter.

I removed ALL of the original power cables on my van and replaced with larger silicon insulated cables, purcasted at "car-stereo shop".
New from alt. to batt. New from batt. to firewall connection. New from firewall connection to glowreley.
