fast idle will not shut off

My fast idle solenoid will not shut off once the truck warms up. For now I just turned the screw out so it's not increasing the idle. Is this not controlled by the coolant temp sensor at the pass. side back of the block? I know it controls part of the glow plug cycle.

I was thinking of putting a manual switch so that it would get a little warmer once the cooler weather arrives.

Your are correct about the fast idle and advance temp switch on the right cyl head.
They are made to open at around 100* mine opens at 130*.
Sounds like yours may be defective, kinda a PITA to change.......Merle
