The posts about the Jeep swaps have me thinking. (Yeah, I know that's dangerous!)

I have a 1994 4X4 baby Blazer with a blown 4.3, and a completely re-done 6.2 with zero miles, with no "home".

Anybody done this swap? Is it possible in a 4X4?

The Blazer's 700-R4 has the standard 90-degree Chevy bolt pattern, so it will bolt up (after torque-handling mods).

I can live without AC.

Hello All,

BobND: Have you measured the engine from back to front leaving room for the fan to be mounted and allowing room for the radiator? this might be a good start. Oh and dont forget across...

Just my thoughts,
Don

Don,

I've read articles about people stuffing BBC's in there, so I suspect the 6.2 will fit, possibly with a bit of a body lift.

What I am most unsure of is getting the oil pan around the front differential.

I would sure like to hear from someone who has done (tried) the conversion!

I have done two SB conversions on S-10 pickups and found both challenging and doable, however niether were 4WD. I bought a book from this guy (before there was an enternet!) http://www.jagsthatrun.com/
He was really good at answering my v-8 swap questions and may be helpful in yor swap. Hope this helps.

I also had a 87 4WD that I put a 3.4 from a 95 camero in. I had planned on a v8 swap before I found the 3.4. I had made a set of engine mounts that would shoehorn the SB into the S-Blazer that I never used. If the 6.2 measures the same as a SB chevy and you need engine mounts these can be had CHEAP ! ! I custom machined them and had them powdercoated flat black and they have decorated a shelf in my shop for almost 10 years ! !

de_lok,

The mount-to-bellhousing dimensions should be the same, BBC, SBC, and 6.3, AFAIK.

You can email me with a price on the mounts, if you'd like.

I don't know if I will procede, yet, but I may lift the body off, try to get set the engine down over the front pumpkin, then try to get the body back on.

A member in FL told me he'd been running a 6.2L NA in his S-10 Blazer for a few years. Said it got 30-mpg at 80-mph.

I can offer fame & fortune (we pay for articles published here), but unless they send me some usable pics and enough text to go with it, we can only imagine... :(

I actually spent about 20 minutes talking to him on the phone some months ago. He'd recently begun a new project, but this time with a 6.5TD in a newer S-10 pickup. smile.gif
