So i'v got about 3500 miles on my engin since i put it all together.
i wasn't in a rush to assemble it so i cleaned and recleaned everything, following all the advice from the TDP manuals One head was a rebuild from a large head rebuilder, recomened by the machien shop up here, the other was resurfaced by them.I Used Felpro 6.5 gaskets and felpro bolts.I didn't see the contraversy between 6.2,and 6.5 gaskets till i was done :(
So my question to all who read this is....
Has anyone ever gotten air bubbles in thier coolent from any other reasones then the obvious, cracked head, gasket leak,or cracked block?
I havn't had any overheating,or consumption of coolent, nothing getting in the oil.
when i had it apart their wern't any crackes in the block,or the head that i reused. There is no smoke when it is running other than when i start it,and it clears up within a minite, and smells like diesel.Have replaced the rad cap since this started and didn't solve it.
i know i'm grasping at straw's,but mabey???
Thanks

Howdy
Get a cooling system pressure testing kit and then you can test the system and maybe determine for sure what your problem is. I found my cracked block by putting about 18psi for 5-6hrs on my cooling system. Before that I just had coolant consumption with NO increase in oil level or any other bad things. It has always been my assumption that if you have bubbles in the radiator that means combustion is getting in from someplace.
Hope it turns out to be something small!
