glow plugs

My glow plugs never seem to work except during the crank cycle. They worked a few times when I first swapped engines but now only during the crank cycle? They are driving me crazy!!

let us know the year of your truck and if you have modified the glow system at all. John

My truck is a 90 Chevy Sub. I have done nothing to the glow plug system. I tried replacing the controler and it didn't seem to act any differently. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELp.

Well nape, sorry I can't help. I have the old system that I modified to the new but I don't know how the new system really works. Hopefully someone else will answer. In one of the old reprints manuals, there is a very good troubleshooting section that covers this system. Good luck. John
