what block casting of the 6.5/6.2 are cosidered the most reliable. in stock form and which are best for build-ups. i expect to get many opinions but this is what i want

i think general opinion (with reasons to back them up)is the new AM-General block is the best choice.
some of the benefits are: increased main webbing mass, increased main cap size, high moly or nickel content
and several more im sure

Lupey--agree with above post. Believe late 6.2 blocks had improvements, early oil-spray blocks prone to cracking. There is a bit of info here on site, maybe try ref section, check reprints??? If do a search this forum for "casting numbers" worth reading. I'd also try searches in the 'members', and 'Dr. Lee's' Forums this site[for casting/block/numbers/& combinations...].
Possibly most knowledgeable folks are those at Avant Salvage and John Kennedy.

is the new am-general block you wrote of the same as the 99-later blocks w/international stamped in the valley? casting numbers i'm not sure of is it the L65?
