Assuming that you don't have a fried Trans. You might want to check and make sure that the threads on your sender are clean and that it is making a good ground contact with the vehicle.
Hope this helps.....

Those don't really sound all that out-of line to me. Mine often sees 200 running solo.
thanks ronniejoe! First time with this truck and I'm still learning

Howdy
My trans temp runs about 140* no load year around and MAYBE as high as 180 with a good load on her. I use Mobile 1 ATF and have a Maghytech pan that gives me 2 extra qrts.

Temps sound normal. Temp will drop quickly
as soon as TCC locks,
Going down hill in lower gear will also raise temps,
TCC is unlocked and providing braking.
Temps are cooler when pulling a hill if down shift.( Higher RPM , lower tran temps.
.Highest temps are at low rpm, , loaded , torque
converter doing all the work
With a Heavey load, on a hill you will see temps
close to 300 degrees.....
If heavy and slow, you may need a bigger pan and additional cooling.
Thanks guys for all the help! ran a lot of trips today never seen temps over 170. yesterday just thru me. thanks again
