larger oil filter

Hello,
i used to have a large oil filter on my 6.5
but since i moved i had the shop do the last oil change. i lost the part number in the move.
does anyone know the part number for the larger one 2 quart filter
I tried to find it with a search but had no luck.

I use a WIX filter marketed by Car Quest. The number is 85773. Hope this helps....

As long as you are mounting it vertically, the Baldwin B7 will do. I have them listed on my site under 6.5 parts.

The site Carey went to is excellant for crossing filters. Baldwin gives listings for lots of different filters. B7 is the big Baldwin filter, but go to the site and see all the other manufacturers #'s to choose from. THe Amsoil filter is under 11.00 wholesale, and thats a synthetic media filter.

When I changed over to Amsoil oil I asked about there 2 qt filter.

They did not recomend it because it did not have relief valve.

Anyone tried using a PF2232 or equivalent (Duramax Filter) on a 6.5? From the specs on the Baldwin Filter site its looks like the PF2232 (http://catalog.baldwinfilter.com/PartSpecification.asp?URL=PartEntry.asp&partnumber=B1441) is the same size as the PF1218 (http://catalog.baldwinfilter.com/PartSpecification.asp?URL=PartEntry.asp&partnumber=B1428). The Mobil-1 (M1-303) and Baldwin (B1441) versions of the PF2232 have very good beta efficiency specs. If you have the room, a PF932F will work fine, and has double the fluid capacity of the 1218.

MY PREVIOUS POST WAS WRONG.
I checked with Amsoil's tech department about the bigger filter(SDF76), and found out DSLPWR was right- there is no bypass valve in the bigger filter. The tech guy said that filter is used a lot in racing applications where it is changed a lot, and restriction would never be a problem. I emailed them back and asked if that filter would be alright to use with my change interval of 5000 miles. Hopefully I would never see a bypass running the standard filter, so I would think a larger filter would be capable of even longer service life. I dont want to run it any longer, just give the most possible area for filtration, and dissipate a little more heat.
