Has anyone investigated installing a high idle switch in a '95 diesel 'burb? Over Christmas the temps in eastern MT were in the -20's and I noticed that at idle the temp gage was not registering at all until the rpms were up to 1000. I know several other larger diesels have a high idle switch to help in this area.

Lug,
I bought the tool and ends for my 95 2500 pick-up. Minimum order was 200 pins so I have some if you or anyone else needs any.

jeffrey b,

Where did you purchase the tool and pins? I couldn't seem to locate the exact tool listed on Kennedy's site.

Thanks,

Stephen

If you guys can wait, I have 10 pins, and will only need 2. When i complete my update, I will send you the pins. I couldnt find the crimper but figured I would make it work.

Stephen_ board,
I bought the pins and crimp tool from the company on the Kennedy page. It took three calls and four fax lists for them. Power and Signal group, tele. 1-800-722-5273. Erica White was very helpful. You can e-mail me at adamjb@midmaine.com. If you need some pins or a wire with crimped ends just let me know.

I should have given you tool prices and information. Power and Signal have to set up a credit check and need a credit card and will take a couple of days to reply. Pins come in either 6000 or loose in a package of 200 at .0792 each. Crimpers are $53.33 each. Pin numbers are 12089649-L, and L is for loose quantity. Crimper is #6285847 and is available as a single unit. If you need a wire and pin let me know the length and I can send on with ends on it.

When I did mine in 99 I went to a dealer and asked them for some info on the pin outs and the pins. Well they photo copied the page that told me about the pto stuff, and the shop gave me some pins. If you are just doing one truck I'd ask your deal about it.

ps all my extra pins were given away

You guys know that your local dealer should have individual pins and crimpers for this. The average dealer will have $$$THOUSANDS worth of pins and crimpers on hand. Talk nice and he'll crimp the pin(s) onto your wire. Otherwise, you can crudely crimp with a pliers.

Or you could go to a local bone yard and locate the ecm harness off any gm car with similar ecm plug and just cut the end off, and then you will have bunches to work with.
